Tutorial To Change An Average Wooden Crates Into Stylish Bathroom Storage On Wheel

If you are interested in DIY projects and looking for one to outshine your craft skills, then I have one project for you. This time give a new dimension to your bathroom without making a huge investment. All you need for storing towels, soaps, shampoos, toilet paper are wooden crates, or you can also turn wood planks into crates according to your preference.

  Tools and material you will be requiring:

  • Varathane 3X Premium Wood Stain- Cognac
  • Varathane 3X Premium Wood Stain- Weathered Gray
  • Varathane Matt Soft Touch Polyurethane
  • Sandpaper
  • Casters
  • Drill
  • Various sized wooden crates
  • Dropcloth
  • Piece of plywood
  • Screws
  • Drill bits
  • Wrench
  • Stir Stick

#Step 1. Sand the wooden crates to smooth the surface.

#Step 2. Now that you have sanded crates, wipe them down with a tack cloth to remove dust and dirt.

#Step 3. Open Varathane 3X Premium Wood Stain- Cognac can and stir it throughly with a stick.

#Step 4. Apply your first stain: Dip your brush into the stain and apply evenly onto the the wood. Once you have stained one side, let it dry

#Step 5. Wipe off excess stain and let your crates dry for minimum one hour, then apply 3 coats of Varathane Matt Soft Touch Polyurethane .

#Step 6. Apply your second stain of Varathane 3X Premium Wood Stain- Weathered Gray in the above mentioned method.

#Step 7. Arrange the crates together in a desirable way. Once you have finalised your pattern drill them, then follow with a screw to hold them together.

Drill a pilot hole in 4 corners of the stack and twist the casters in by hand as far as possible. You can also use wrench to tighten them.

Now fill your bathroom storage units with bathroom supplies and enjoy new look of bathroom.

Note:Work in open and free space and cover your workplace with a piece of cloth to protect it from stains.
