Use measure tape to find the centre of closet door to fix the medallion. To fix the mediallion use two nails, one at the top and one at the bottom. If your closet doors are small, then use shorter nails to prevent it going all the way through. You can paint your closet door in a complementing or contrasting color of medallion.
